Primavera Sound Barcelona 2021 reveals first 100 artists

Most artists confirmed for 2020 have been rebooked, but big name casualties include Lana Del Rey, Bicep and Massive Attack.

Headline acts Lana Del Rey and Massive Attack have not been named in the first 100 acts of the rescheduled festival, leading many to believe that conflicting schedules have led to their removal.

Whilst more acts are to be announced, the biggest additions to the original line-up will be Charli XCX, Gorillaz, and Tame Impala.

Other headliners such as The Strokes, The National, Pavement, Tyler, The Creator, BROCKHAMPTON and Disclosure will all return, but some high-billed acts, such as French Cloud-Rappers PNL, and King Princess, will also miss out.

Rina Sawayama’s meteoric rise has seen her given a spot, but fellow British pop debutant Georgia will miss out.

Punk-Rock stars IDLES have also joined the line-up, joining FKA twigs as new acts.

Reading and Leeds 2020 Festival cancelled

The COVID-19 pandemic claims another festival, with organisers stating: “it has become clear that it’s just not possible for this years festival to go ahead.”

Festival goers have received the news many would have predicted – that there will be no festivals in Reading or Leeds this August.

With the world gripped by the pandemic at the start of March, festival organisers were optimistic that the situation would improve by August – but as the outbreak continues, they have sensibly called time on this year’s edition.

It will be the first year since 1985 that it will not go ahead, but it is expected to return by 2021.

It remains unclear if headliners Stormzy, Liam Gallagher and Rage Against the Machine will be booked again for next year.
