Below are links to our 40 favourite singles released in May. We’ve included tracks from all over the world – including Wales, France, Spain and Italy – and from many different genres, from hyperpop, to jazz and funk inspired tracks.

Some highlights include the latest release from Welsh band Yws Gwynedd, with the funk-fuelled Deryn Du. It marks the band’s first release in four years, and by the sounds of it the band is still in fine form.

Staying in Wales but switching languages, Teddy Hunter revealed her debut track Games, a lovely soft electronic effort that really draws you in.

Across the border in England, Dorset grunge inspired Dustlight are back after their debut EP in 2017, returning with another riff-heavy track, Late Night, Low Light.

German rapper Bonez MC makes the list thanks to his trap track named, and inspired, by the cartoon antagonist, Roadrunner. Pop-rap influenced, a nice use of auto-tune makes this a fun listen.

Big name releases include Biffy Clyro, Foster the People, and Jacob Collier‘s fantastic effort with Ty Dolla $ign and Mahalia.

At the moment we can only support Spotify, but here is a list of the tracks:
